In the near future, YouTube is set to remove one of the most reviled features of its entire website: 30 second unskippable ads. Clearly, there are few things that feel more awful than having to go through one of these slots while waiting for a video which is shorter than the ad itself.
We have an exciting news today for Youtube powerusers. Youtube has announced that it will remove the ads from its entire website. You tube has announced to take down the feature of 30 second ad before the actual video which the users could not skip
Although the timeframe has been provided by Youtube to remove this feature. According to one statement Youtube is set to remove this feature by the start of 2018. The users would now just have to wait for 10 months to get rid of 30 second annoying ads. In 2018 the Youtube viewers will be able to view the videos without going through painful process of waiting 30 seconds.
As Youtube revealed the news in a statement that:
“We’re committed to providing a better ads experience for users online. As part of that, we’ve decided to stop supporting 30-second unskippable ads as of 2018 and focus instead on formats that work well for both users and advertisers.”
Although the Youtube stated that the shorter version of these ads ranging from 15 to 20 seconds will be continued to be seen in future. Also the option of slightly acceptable 6 second ad will still be operational which was introduced recently.
The ads have been the center of much controversy as they were introduced as a way of generating money back in 2006. Although the ads have been a source of earning reasonable dollars but now they are becoming redundant. Youtube is now discovering new horizons to generate profits from features such as Youtube Red.
